Gastro-intestinal distress is something most competitive athletes have experienced at some stage in their lives, either in training, racing or more chronically day-to-day, especially if you do endurance sports and it involves running. There are many factors to consider when you are looking at why you may suffer when others do not and I chose this subject as my Research Project as part of my BSc in Nutritional Science. I went on to write an article on the subject for the Functional Sports Nutrition Magazine and a downloadable copy is available for free below. Please do read it and think how the many factors involved may be relevant to you. The chances are it is far more than you think.
